CHC member charities meet accountability standards that include the following: each charity must undergo an annual application and review process; be a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization as certified by the IRS; have an annual audit conducted in accordance with the generally accepted auditing standards of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; have an active, voluntary board of directors; have fund raising and administrative costs that are at or below industry standards; and meet other specified requirements.

Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance

Community Health Charities has earned the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance seal.  The seal acknowledges that CHC meets the Alliance's strong and comprehensive standards.
The BBB Wise Giving Alliance offers guidance to donors on making informed giving decisions through our charity evaluations, various "tips" publications, and publishes the quarterly Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Guide.
 

National Health Council
As a Member of the National Health Council, CHC is in compliance with the Council's Standards of Excellence, which cover the areas of governance, personnel policies, programs, fundraising, finance, accounting and reporting, and evaluation. The Council demands the highest standards of public accountability from its member organizations to assure the public that these organizations are worthy of support.
