Exercise Tip: 8 Ways to Stay Active at Work

Stretching at WorkMore research continues to find that sitting too much for long periods of time is harmful to our health. Taking just a few minutes to walk around the office is better than sitting for hours on end in a chair. Take every opportunity you can to get up and move! Remember, the more you move, the more calories you burn.

AubreyInstead of looking up at her mom, Laura, she recently told someone asking about her condition, “My legs don’t work like yours. I was born this way.” That moment was one of many proud moments for Laura. Like the first time Aubrey was able to climb the stairs all by herself – even though it took 45 minutes. And the day Aubrey walked into her own room, turned on the light for the first time and said, “I did it myself, mommy!” And, most recently, using her wheelchair to win the tricycle race from the outside lane at her preschool’s Special Olympics. “I tell Aubrey all the time that she is awesome,” said Laura. “She responds, ‘No, I’m full of awesome.’
