May is Mental Health Awareness Month Mental Health America (MHA), a national member charity of Community Health Charities, has kicked off their latest campaign, Get Connected, supporting National Mental Health Month. The 2008 campaign is designed to highlight the importance of education, advocacy and support for persons diagnosed with a serious mental illness and their families.
Community Health Charities has earned the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance seal. The seal acknowledges that CHC adheres to the Alliance's strong and comprehensive standards.
Randy is 45 years old, with cerebral palsy and moderate mental retardation. When Randy’s mother first contacted UCP in 2000, he was living in a nursing home because of his medical needs. But Randy and his mother kept hoping that somehow they could find a living situation for Randy that would allow him more independence and exposure to community activity. Thats when Randy, a bright and fun-loving gentleman, found his home with United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia.
