Easter Seals helps World War II veteran maintain dignity, independence. Carl's time in the Army was supposed to be relatively quiet. During World War II, when he was 21, Carl was drafted into the Army's Transportation Division, where he served for a year as a "Railroad Man." His military career was unremarkable until Dec. 16, 1944, when the Battle of the Bulge began, and Carl was sent to the front lines as part of General Patton's 3rd Army.
